Maria Lord

My exhibit is called "Harmony". It consists of various illustrations and mixed media pieces. My artwork shows a variety of patterns and illustrations, all pieces also tell a story. Patterns are something that distinguishes my artwork, not only because I find patterns very visually appealing and enjoy creating them, but I have a background designing patterns and embellishments for the fashion industry, and this is something I like incorporating in my pieces. When working with mixed media I also like using various textures and shapes in order to create something beautiful and meaningful. To me it's important that art tells a story, it gives the viewer something to think about. Creating art that is not only visually beautiful but that sparks conversations and includes a message, or a story is something I aim towards when creating my artwork, and it's also something you can see in this exhibit.
