FOREST FOR THE TREES

“Thank you ACOR and Art4All! Your generous support will help towards paying artist and collaborators fees for my community-based immersive installation  FOREST FOR THE TREES, premiering at GARNER Arts Center March 14 - April 26, 2026. This project explores humankind’s intimate relationship with trees, and the critical role forests play in providing and maintaining habitats for essential species. The exhibit includes over 45 participants from the Rockland community and around the world who have contributed personal audio narratives about trees and are also featured in video scenarios alongside both real and virtual “moving forests” of my ceramic tree forms.

Rockland Conservatory of Music
Access to Music for Individuals with Disabilities

“ACOR’s support through this wonderful Art4All Grant allows individuals with disabilities to put music and creativity into their lives at Rockland Conservatory of Music. It imprints them with joy and self-confidence which they take out into a world where they often feel marginalized. Hearing their voices raised and tambourines played in a rousing version of “Here Comes the Sun” is a testament to how Art4All is truly embodying ‘art for all’.”

John Rosis
Arbor Day Free Community Printmaking Workshop at River Hook: The Hester Haring Preserve

“The generous support from ACOR will allow me to present free gel plate printmaking workshops during Upper Nyack’s Arbor Day weekend at River Hook: The Hester Haring Cason Preserve. My project invites individuals and families to creatively engage with the Preserve, with all materials provided at no cost. My goal is for participants to leave with prints they’ve made and a meaningful connection to nature, art, and community. It is also an honor to be connected to the home of Hester Haring, a renowned and accomplished painter and printmaker.”

Spring Valley Placemakers
Community Weave: A Vision for Our Future

“"We would not be able to do our Community Weave project if it weren't for this Art4All grant. We began our work of focusing on Spring Valley Memorial Park as a nucleus for ecological, social, and economic restoration almost a year ago to the day of receiving the notification that we were amongst the awardees. This Community Weave project is a pivotal next step in inviting the larger public to share what they want to see in their greenspace and implementing their ideas. This award is a seed of hope in our village and county."
