ACOR is thrilled to be partnering with an amazing group of visual artists for our newest show, Touching Grass - Community Square, at the Hidden Treasure Gallery at the Rockland County Courthouse.
In today’s digital world, the phrase “touch grass” has become a modern call to unplug—to step away from screens and reconnect with reality. It’s a reminder that it’s problematic to lose interest in the real world. We are social beings who need community connections, and culture. To be human is to make errors, to be rough around the edges, to be imperfect, and to be with each other. Nature is fleeting; experience it before it’s gone entirely. Touch grass.
The Arts Council of Rockland collaborates with the Rockland County Jury Department and Commissioner of Jurors, Sabrina Greco, to provide the Hidden Treasure Gallery at the Rockland County Courthouse.
This collaboration provides local artists an opportunity to exhibit and showcase their artwork to more than 10,000 people annually who visit the Central Jury Room, either as a juror or as a visitor during one of the many court-sponsored events.
"The artwork truly enhances the appearance of the Central Jury Room while providing jurors, visitors, and guests the opportunity to experience and enjoy artwork generated from within our community" said Sabrina Greco, Commissioner of Jurors.
ACOR is thrilled to collaborate with the Rockland County Jury Department to promote and support the arts in Rockland County!
