As an organization that is largely volunteer-run, the Arts Council of Rockland is grateful to the individuals who make up our wonderful community, without whom we could not do the work that we do every day. We have joined local business leaders in Rockland and Westchester to participate in Volunteer New York’s #Bridge2Give campaign to help raise awareness about the importance of giving (time AND money!), especially on #GivingTuesday, December 3, 2019. Click here to watch our executive director, Cheryl Baun, talk about the importance of giving and why giving to the arts is so important! We have set a fundraising goal of $2,500 on Giving Tuesday, December 3. Will you help us reach our goal? If you donate on December 3 via Facebook, your donation will be eligible to be matched dollar for dollar by Facebook!

Your support enables us to accomplish the following:

  • Provide FREE monthly professional development workshops for our member artists

  • Maintain two galleries and provide exhibit opportunities to local artists at the Garner Arts Center and the Rockland County Courthouse

  • Give technical assistance to individual artists and arts organizations

  • Promote local artists and arts happenings through FREE calendar listings and a weekly e-newsletter

  • Advocate for the arts with key decision makers to ensure that the arts are always included in important conversations about economic development, education, and social services that have long-term implications for Rockland County

  • Develop a library of resources for our Artist Resource Center

But don’t take our word for it. Here’s what some Rockland artists have to say about why they #SupportRocklandArts:

Thank you for giving today and every day to make Rockland County a place where the arts thrive!
