The Arts Council of Rockland Announces 2020 Virtual Arts Awards Recipients

The Arts Council of Rockland (ACOR) held its 2020 Virtual Arts Awards Ceremony on June 16, 2020 where they celebrated the many talented artists nominated for ACOR Arts Awards this year. The event also featured special performances by past and present Performing Artist Awardees Shirley Crabbe and Alice Leon.

A peer jury selected five deserving award recipients from 30 nominees in the five categories of Visual Artist, Arts Educator, Performing Artist, Arts Organization/Leadership, and Literary Artist.  The recipients of ACOR's 2020 Arts Awards include the following:

Visual Artist Award, Michael Iskowitz 
Arts Educator Award, Jeffrey Friedberg
Performing Artist Award, Alice Leon
Arts Organization/Leadership Award, Rockland County Art in Public Places
Literary Artist Award, Bill Batson
  
The Arts Awards Ceremony is ACOR’s annual signature event to both support its mission and highlight exemplary accomplishments in the arts throughout Rockland County.  ACOR also announced the debut of its online auction featuring artwork by some of Rockland's most talented artists.  The online auction will support ACOR's overall mission, including its new Artist's Support Fund, which provides financial aid to artists in need as well as its many programs and workshops. CLICK HERE to view the online auction.
